Ninacent 150 mg (Generic Nintedanib) – Incepta Pharmaceuticals

Ninacent 150 mg is a generic soft gel capsule formulation of Nintedanib (as nintedanib esylate) — a triple angiokinase inhibitor — manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a WHO-GMP certified pharmaceutical company based in Bangladesh. Each capsule contains 150 mg of nintedanib, the same active molecule as in OFEV® (Boehringer Ingelheim), and is dispensed under the Named Patient Program.

Nintedanib has two distinct uses: slowing progressive lung fibrosis (IPF, progressive fibrosing ILD, and SSc-ILD), and — in combination with docetaxel — treating certain adenocarcinoma non-small cell lung cancers after prior chemotherapy. Confirm with your prescriber which indication applies to you, as dosing differs between the two.

In progressive fibrosing lung disease, overactive growth-factor signalling drives fibroblast proliferation and abnormal tissue remodelling, progressively stiffening lung tissue. In NSCLC, the same signalling pathways drive tumour angiogenesis.

Nintedanib slows disease progression rather than producing dramatic early symptom relief — gastrointestinal side effects are the most noticeable early change.

• Before starting: baseline liver function tests and (for females of reproductive potential) a pregnancy test are required.
• Week 1–2: Diarrhoea is very common and often the first side effect noticed — stay well hydrated and tell your doctor if it is severe or persistent.
• Weeks 3–4: Liver function is rechecked. Nausea and appetite changes often stabilise as the body adjusts.

Diarrhoea is the most common side effect and can usually be managed without stopping treatment. Always report new or worsening symptoms to your prescriber.

Standard dose for IPF, ILD, and SSc-ILD: 150 mg twice daily, about 12 hours apart, with food. Mild hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh A): reduce to 100 mg twice daily. NSCLC combination regimen follows a specific cycle schedule set by your oncologist — do not adjust either regimen without medical guidance.

  Take with food — this improves tolerability and is required, not optional.

  Swallow whole with water. Never chew or crush — the capsule contents are bitter and the release profile is affected.

  Note any peanut or soya allergy before starting — the capsule shell contains soya lecithin.

  If you miss a dose, skip it and resume at the next scheduled time — do not double up. Maximum daily dose (150 mg regimen) is 300 mg.

  Storage: below 25°C, in original packaging, away from light and moisture.

  Watch for jaundice: yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or unusual bruising should be reported to the treating doctor promptly — liver monitoring is part of routine care.

  Support hydration during diarrhoea episodes — this is the most common reason patients need dose adjustment, and staying ahead of it with fluids helps avoid interruption to treatment.
