What is Baricinix 4 mg?
Baricinix 4 mg is a generic formulation of Baricitinib — an oral JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor — manufactured by Beacon Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh’s largest dedicated oncology pharmaceutical company, under WHO-GMP certified conditions. Each tablet contains 4 mg of baricitinib, the same active molecule found in Olumiant® (Eli Lilly), and is dispensed under the Named Patient Program.
Important: Baricitinib is approved at both 2 mg and 4 mg doses depending on indication, prior treatment response, and country-specific labelling. This product is the 4 mg strength. If your physician has prescribed 2 mg, confirm with them exactly how this should be sourced or dosed — do not assume a 4 mg tablet can simply be halved unless your physician explicitly confirms this is appropriate for the specific formulation.

How Baricitinib Works
In rheumatoid arthritis and alopecia areata, the immune system attacks the body’s own tissue — joints in RA, hair follicles in alopecia areata — driven by inflammatory cytokines signalling through JAK1 and JAK2 pathways.
Dosing by Indication
| Rheumatoid arthritis | 2 mg once daily (standard); 4 mg only for patients with inadequate response to ≥2 DMARDs, per physician judgement |
| Severe alopecia areata | 2 mg once daily initially; may increase to 4 mg once daily if response is inadequate |
| Hospitalised COVID-19 | 4 mg once daily for up to 14 days, per hospital protocol |
Because Baricinix is supplied as a 4 mg tablet, patients prescribed 2 mg should confirm with their physician exactly which product/strength combination is appropriate — do not self-adjust dosing.
